Walled Lake Western’s Rodney Endsley takes home a pair of state titles

Walled Lake Western senior Rodney Endsley capped his high school track career with two trips to the top of the podium claiming a pair of state titles on Saturday at the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship meet at Rockford High School.

Endsley clocked a pair of personal bests, which also reset his school records, to take home both the 200 meter and 400 meter dash state championships. The soon-to-be University of Michigan sprinter ran a 21.14 in the 200 meter and a 47.11 in the 400 meter dash. Endsley also earned All-State honors with the Warriors 4x200 meter relay team, which also includes Timon Dogan, David Krall and Dennis Basco. They took third place in the state final race with a time of 1:27.04. The Walled Lake Western men’s track and field team finished fourth overall.

Walled Lake Western’s Kira Havard earned All-State honors as well. The Warrior senior finished fifth overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.28.

Walled Lake Central’s field athletes also shined on Saturday with four earning All-State honors. Addy Wilson took second overall in Discus with a throw of 136’0”. Majd Mirza placed in Discus as well with a throw of 158’9”, which was good for fourth place. Case Lang earned All-State honors in Pole Vault with a fourth place finish of 15’3”, and Paige Haller took third overall in High Jump clearing 5’4”.
