Walled Lake Central, Walled Lake Northern and Walled Western were honored by College Board as 2025 AP Honor Roll Schools.

This the third-straight year Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Northern have been recognized as AP School Honor Roll schools. Walled Lake Northern received a Silver distinction for third year in a row.

“This is an example of the quality instruction and rigor our students elect to take each year,” said Walled Lake Northern principal, Greg Diamond. “The student’s commitment to their studies and our commitment to providing a fantastic experience for them, is the best way to prepare them for life after high school.”

The past two years the Vikings received a Bronze distinction. This year’s elevation to Silver status was earned from an increase in AP participation and achievement, including the number of graduating seniors that scored a 3+ on their AP exams and the number of students who took 5 or more AP exams in high school with at least one in ninth or tenth grade.

“The Walled Lake Central faculty, staff and administration works hard to provide the best learning opportunities for all learners,” said principal Kyle Meteyer. “I commend our entire staff for making Walled Lake Central a positive and engaging place to learn, which helps make success in our most challenging courses a do-able reality for our students.”

“Our students consistently rise to meet challenges, including the academic rigor of Advanced Placement courses, and all of our AP students should know that their hard work and academic engagement not only elevates their own academic standing, but the standing of our learning institution as a whole,” added Meteyer.

Walled Lake Western received an AP Honor Roll Bronze distinction for the second-straight year.

“Being recognized on the AP Honor Roll Bronze school for the second year in a row reflects what makes Walled Lake Western such a special place, students who rise to challenges and staff who believe in their potential,” said principal Amy Pashak. “Our AP program empowers students to push themselves, build confidence, and prepare for college-level expectations. We are proud of our students for taking that leap and grateful for our teachers who make it possible.”

The AP School Honor Roll distinction is awarded to schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
