Administration
Dear Walled Lake Western Community,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Walled Lake Western High School. It is with great enthusiasm that I join this well-respected high school, and I look forward to serving the students, staff, and families of our community.
For the past two years, I had the privilege of serving as the Principal at Fowlerville High School, and before that, I spent eight years as an assistant principal at Howell High School. My career in education began as a high school social studies teacher, a role I valued for 16 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University (Boiler Up!), a Master’s degree from Madonna University, and an Ed Specialist Degree from the University of Michigan, Flint.
On a personal note, I am a proud mother to my 12th-grade son Finn and my daughter Paige, who attends the University of Michigan. My husband, Matt, is a high school business teacher, and we reside in South Lyon with our kitten Goose and cat Max.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Ali Hamka, who has transitioned to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Mr. Hamka’s leadership and dedication have set a strong foundation for our school, and I am honored to continue building upon that legacy.
As I step into this role, I am committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. I want to emphasize my commitment to being present, available, and visible within our school community. I am eager to engage with students, staff, and families to build strong relationships and foster a supportive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. I will be an accessible and approachable leader who is dedicated to understanding the unique needs of our school and working collaboratively towards our shared goal of academic excellence for a global society.
We are fortunate in education that we enjoy a fresh start each year, and with all of the changes at Walled Lake Western, this is a perfect opportunity for us to reset and reimagine our future together. While transitioning to new leadership can bring about feelings of uncertainty, please know that I am here to learn, listen, and grow with you. I am eager to begin this journey and look forward to the positive impact we will make as a community.
Yours in Education,
Amy Pashak, Ed.S.
Principal, Walled Lake Western High School
